Process - Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings (MIAMs)

This is an individual information meeting prior to full family mediation taking place.  I meet with each former partner individually before any mediation meeting can take place together.  This is to ensure that mediation is appropriate in all the circumstances. The MIAM is your opportunity to explain the background circumstances so that I can give you information and you can ask questions about the mediation process and the other options for dealing with your dispute.

I am an accredited mediator and I am therefore qualified to complete what are known as ‘statutory MIAMs’ for court purposes.  This means that you will normally need to attend a MIAM before making an application to the court about children and/or financial matters.

The MIAM will take around 45 minutes to an hour You can ask me any questions and we can talk through your options at the MIAM.

I can conduct MIAMs online, if this is preferred.
